Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
This policy describes how Albert F. Peter, amateur radio call sign AC8GY ("I"), handles information when you use ac8gy.com. The site publishes my notes on amateur radio projects, software-defined radio, antennas, crystal sets, photography, and astronomy. Questions about this policy go to the contact page or to albert-peter@cinci.rr.com.
Who publishes this site
The site is a personal project. I live in Anderson Township, Cincinnati, Ohio 45244. There is no separate company operating ac8gy.com, and the site does not sell products or take payment.
Information you give me
The site has no accounts, no comments, and no order form. If you email me, I receive the address you write from, what you write, and any details you choose to include. I use that only to answer you. I do not sell personal information, and I do not share your email with advertisers.
Information collected automatically
The web server records standard log data: IP address, browser type, referring page, the page requested, and the time of the request. Logs are used to keep the site working, to diagnose errors, and to see which project pages are read. The host and the content-delivery network in front of the site may process the same technical data to deliver pages and to block abuse.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. I and my partners use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels) as follows:
- A cookie-notice choice, stored in your browser so the notice is not shown again after you accept it.
- Google Analytics cookies, which measure how the site is used: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device, and browser.
- Advertising cookies, described in the next section, which third parties may set when ads are shown.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking them may stop measurement and personalized ads. The project notes, photographs, and diagrams will still load.
Advertising, including Google
This site may show ads served by Google AdSense and other advertising partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and other sites on the Internet.
Those vendors may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons, to collect information as a result of ad serving. That can include the ads you see, whether you clicked them, and a cookie identifier. I do not control the cookies set by ad partners, and an ad is not an endorsement of the advertiser.
Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party cookies at the Digital Advertising Alliance and, if you are in Europe, at Your Online Choices.
How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services is explained at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google's advertising technologies are described at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland may be asked for consent before personalized ads or certain advertising cookies are used. Until a consent choice is available for those regions, ads there may be limited or non-personalized.
Google Analytics
I use Google Analytics to see which pages are useful. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and receives usage data from this site. Google's description of that processing is at Google's privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Children
This website is written for adults interested in amateur radio, photography, and astronomy. It is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has emailed me personal information, write to albert-peter@cinci.rr.com and I will delete it.
Links to other sites
Project pages and the links page point to other websites, including the ARRL, local clubs, and photography hosts. Those sites have their own policies. This policy applies only to ac8gy.com.
How long information is kept
Email is kept as long as needed to handle the question. Server logs and analytics data are kept for the periods set by the host and by Google, then deleted or aggregated. You may ask me to delete an email conversation you had with me.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Continued use of the site after that date means you are reading the current policy.
